For the Sentinels, they look to be pretty plug-and-play like the instructions implied above, which is nice.

In the grim dark future, there is only war, but you can't just make it about war, you need interesting characters you get to know and love (or love to hate) to experience the setting.

These have some fun sculpts and poses that are going to spice them up a bit more than your line troopers. Vox Caster Guy and Medic Guy have way more detail than Guardsmen have any business having.

So if you want to start an army or just buff up your forces, you’ll be hard-pressed to find more value than this box. Plus, you’ll get the codex early as well!

Remember that these are “thinner” than the previous plastic Cadian models. Not in a bad way, just something to keep in mind as they are the same size (basically) as theForge World Death Korps of Krieg miniatures.

The jumping around stories I know some didn’t like but I felt that it aided the narrative of soldiers fighting for their lives as the cities crumble, wondering what’s coming next. The prose though is rather brisk and dry though so apart from a few characters you don’t get a lot of depth for the people involved in the battles, just a bunch of battle scenes spliced together, and at times can read like a report. It’s not exactly consistent, as the new Cadian Castellan model didn’t receive a generic datasheet for example, and there are is also no Cadian specific heavy weapon squad datasheet for the new models, nor a Catachan specific Command Squad datasheet for their plastic kit. And for some reason, the new Field Ordnance Batteries are generic datasheets, although the kit only contains Cadian operator models. Colonel Schaeffer and his unruly band of penal conscripts return in a German-language edition of the novel Armageddon Saint by Gav Thorpe. Lt Kage is dead… but then he isn’t, and his miraculous return draws suspicion and adoration in equal measure. Schaeffer will stop at nothing to see his wayward lieutenant brought to heel, but malefic powers may just force them to work together once more when a pall of blood and madness threatens to cloud Armageddon entirely.The models come on three medium size sprues that build two models, the bases have a massive 100mm diameter. Summary: I will be frank, this book was a severe disappointment to me. Maybe I just came to it with the wrong expectations, maybe I am not really the target for this kind of book. Anyway, the fact remains that there is very little I find memorable in this book. There are no great descriptions, no great characters, no great dialogue, no great prose. The author just throws names and explosions and disjointed scenes with recurring characters that are minimally developed and calls the job done. It tries to paint the very grim picture of Cadia's fall, but somehow it manages to paint all the epic fighting and doomed resistance in an amazingly boring light.
