About this deal

I mentioned earlier that the Hagane body played a role in securing other features and the illustration comes here. The setplate built into the Hagane body works along with the handle sideplate. Together they secure gears built larger than previous models which greatly increases a fisherman’s leverage when winding. HEG technology results in gears that won’t bind due to pressure. X Ship message will provide an estimated arrival date, which can be unpredictable as suppliers often change Trinidad is a reel that resonates with all Saltwater Anglers; it has earned an impeccable reputation for power and reliability world wide. Shimano's quest for the new Trinidad A created a lighter, smaller and more compact reel. The performance goal was to build the best casting reel in this category. Shimano shattered their targets and have built a reel for casting which all others will be measured by. Specs & Features

I use the 14A for 20-25# leaders. The 16 is good for 30-50# leaders. The 20A is good for the same. The difference is line capacity. The 20 is just a wide 16 for example. Yes you can go up/down from there, but this is typically what the reels are used for. I had the 14 paired up with the same rod I was using with my 16 for this particular trip. This was a trip that I totally smoked them with the 16's drag with ease. I tested both, 14&16 side to side. Caught over 20 20lbers yft on this trip that is not easy to do. And hooked and handy plenty of times.

I like using, I mean I LOVE using 25lb invis X right off the bat. I can get my bait way out there in the kill zone fast without a knot or braid going through my guides, equals more hook ups. I have my drags set pretty tight, bout 12-15lbs at strike for its first run. After it slows down a bit, I start turning the star drag up and drag the fish in fast. That's why the 14a is already under gunned fighting/cranking in fish between 20-50lb fish with max drag of 17lbs. I'm talking about size fish, not line rating for the reel that we get off of the catalog. 7lbs more drag is a huge difference in the real world. I'll end up with my drags close to being all the way button down, drags tight. 25lb INVIS X holds up, feels as strong as 30lb blue p-line to me. If not stronger. Did I say I LOVE this stuff?! Reasons to go for it leap like lizards around the Trinidad A series conventional reels. You’ve read all the features which put together make one big pro. Durability on the ocean raises concern when selecting a reel and the Trinidad passes every test. These reels last for life with proper care and maintenance. I also prefer a star drag reel over a lever drag for this kind of fishing. I love the little lever drags for strictly offshore tuna stuff....with the little Avet SX being one of my favorites....though to be fair I haven't fished the talicas yet.

Shimano’s Trinidad A is a lighter version of the older series and spins on a 9 bearing system. The 3 lightest reels in the line (the 10,12, and 14) claim 17 pounds maximum drag while the heavier 4 move up to 25 pounds max fish fighting resistance. A high gear ratio helps the Trinidad with reel speed and lighter model’s 6.3:1 ratio spins slightly faster than the heavier model’s 6.2:1. Not much of a difference there. Key Features Trinidad A series reels cast effortlessly and the narrow spooled TN16NA tends to be favored by jigmasters. The TN16NA holds up to 200 yards of 20 pound mono or 370 yards of 50 pound braid. An angler can do some damage with that.Every well known reel manufacturer has their own technology though they often mimic each other. Shimano employs their best technological features, quality parts, and design experience to make one of the top saltwater reels on the market.
