About this deal

Just like the rest of the Forza II series, the Forza 500B II was designed as a versatile and professional lighting fixture that is color accurate, powerful, and easy to use. COB spotlights that draw around 500/600W have arguably become more popular than 300W versions over the last few years. The included carrying bag has been upgraded as well and it now features solid hollow plates and enhanced stitching.

You can’t judge a light from one set of photometric results. You have to look at all of the different results to be able to come to a conclusion. Looking at one set of results is like reading one chapter in a book and then thinking you know what the whole story is. Everything needs to be considered to come up with an accurate conclusion. Don’t let anyone tell you that SSI scores are the only thing that matters these days. The biggest problem with COB LED lights is that unless you diffuse them they are very bright to look at and unsuitable for directly lighting talent. Weight & Size

Competition

The Nanlite Forza 500B II’s light engine sits right on the heatsink and the LEDs are actually sitting inside a mirrored reflector. This is different from how most COB LED lights are designed. The light actually gets projected through a diffused surface instead of just coming straight out like most COB spotlights. Why would you want to do this? Well, I am glad you asked. The whole idea is to create a single light source and by having the light projected through a diffused surface the Forza 500B II works really well with projection attachments and it is really bright given its size and power draw. Compact design for control box with power adapter incorporated inside, reducing the overall size of the Forza 300/300B II by 37%

The Forza 60 II is claimed to be able to output 17,620lux @1m with its reflector being used. Conversely, the Forza 60B II is claimed to output 14,350lux @1m without is reflector being used. The lights also have a Maximum/Constant output mode and the Forza 60B II is CCT adjustable from 2700K to 6500K. Both fixtures have a CRI and TLCI rated at 96 and 98 respectively. As I have mentioned numerous times before, versatile COB lights in this form factor have become increasingly popular due to their swiss army knife style abilities, which enable them to be used for a variety of lighting scenarios. This is why we have seen so many of them being introduced over the last few years and why there are so many options to choose from. Any MK-1 score that is under -9/9 means you wouldn’t have to use any color correction gels. The MK-1 scores for this light were absolutely outstanding. Any MK-1 score that is under -6/6 is a very good result. These were the best results I have ever seen from any LED light, period. The Forza 500B II has a CCT range of 2700K to 6500K. This is a decent enough range and it will suit most people’s needs. +/- G/M Correction

The original Forza 500 did not have Bluetooth, but both new Forza 500 II models have it, so they can be directly controlled by Android and Apple mobile devices that have the free NANLINK app installed. Like the old generation, the new Forza 500 II's also have2.4G, which lets you control them with the Above you can see the scores for the Forza 300B II at various Kelvin color temperatures. Below I have listed the figures as well. This feature is not on our new Forza 300 II and 300B II Spotlights. The ability to fine-tune dimming in 0.1% increments is included in the top-of-the-line Forza 720 and 720B, and now it will also be present in the Forza 500 II and 500B II. This extra bit of control lets you truly dial-in the ideal amount of light for a scene. The lights also have more control options (including built-in Bluetooth and wireless 2.4G connectivity), a new mode button to improve onboard control, a new fan system that makes them 10 dBA quieter, and they feature a new glass-covered protected COB light. The nice aspect about the fixture only weighing 6.3 lb / 2.9 kg, is that you can use it with a lot of lightweight and compact light stands. This makes it a good option for anyone who needs to travel with minimal gear. Below you can see some other similar power draw Bi-color spotlights that could be considered competition:
